The Ancient Art of Acupuncture bases its philosophy and treatments around the concept of an energetic Life Force that permeates, nourishes and gives structure to everything on earth, including us. The interconnectedness of this Life Force ensures that our external environment affects us internally. Our emotions and our physical stress affect our health. The very way we think and feel help to mould and create who we are.
The anxiety we can feel everyday at work can eventually cause stress in our muscles and spine, creating pain and even physical damage. Our over thinking and worry can cause over production of gastric fluids leading to ulcers. Just as an injury to our neck can leave us feeling distracted with little concentration for the tasks at hand.
This ability to see these links and use them to treat problems puts Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in an effective position to bring about real lasting change, to not only fix the symptoms but to treat the cause.
An Acupuncture treatment consists of a discussion to ascertain what needs to be addressed in the treatment, your health history and any dietary and lifestyle changes that may need to take place. Your tongue and pulse will be looked at closely, this wonderful diagnostic tool can give your practitioner a deeper understanding of your condition. The treatment will take place on a massage table where very fine disposable pins are inserted painlessly into special points. Cups and massage may be used during the treatment to help achieve the best result.
