Acupuncture
Chinese Medicine Acupuncture bases its philosophy and treatments around the concept of an energetic Life Force (Qi)  that permeates, nourishes and gives structure to everything on earth, including us. Using fine needles the Acupuncturist can influence the way the Qi moves through the body, which in turn affects the physical systems.

How does this help you?  By choosing specific points on the body we can change the way the physical body works.  Helping to improve and rejuvenate you to bring about positive change.

Some ailments that Acupuncture can help with. While Acupuncture can help to improve your health generally, some problems that the World Health Organisation  (WHO) state have been proved-through controlled trials-to be an effective treatment are:

Adverse reactions to radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy
Low back pain
Allergic rhinitis (including hay fever)
Malposition of fetus
Biliary colic
Morning sickness
Depression (incl. neurosis &  depression following stroke)
Nausea and vomiting
Dysentery, acute bacillary
Neck pain
Dysmenorrhoea, primary
Pain in dentistry
Acute Epigastralgia(in peptic ulcer,  gastritis, & gastrospasm)
Periarthritis of shoulder
Facial pain (including craniomandibular disorders)
Postoperative pain
Headache
Renal colic
Hypertension, essential
Rheumatoid arthritis
Hypotension, primary
Sciatica
Induction of labour
Sprain
Knee pain
Stroke
Leukopenia

and more...

What should I expect?
An Acupuncture treatment consists of a discussion about your main complaint and general health. Your tongue and pulse will be looked at closely, which is used as a tool to give your practitioner a deeper understanding of your condition. The treatment will take place on a massage table where very fine disposable pins are inserted painlessly into special points. Cups and massage may be used during the treatment to help achieve the best result.
